When I watched A Courtesan with Flowered Skin online for the first time, I really surprised myself. Director made a lot of good work with brilliant writing and amazing cinematography. The acting is really gorgeous, bringed to life characters that are rich in details and complex. Not many "excellent" movies that have ever been released. What happens in A Courtesan with Flowered Skin
The New Yoshiwara pleasure district, in the twilight years of the Edo Period. Popular prostitute Asagiri (Yumi Adachi) will soon be freed from her indentured service. One day at a local festival, she meets young artisan Hanjiro (Yasushi Fuchikami) which changes her destiny.
