A really original film from 2010 year. A performance that has no weak moments. The movie is an extraordinary piece of the moviemaking top class. You do not need to like Drama films to enjoy time spent on watching this film. Director once again delivered us great piece of art. The acting is really gorgeous, bringed to life characters that are rich in details and complex. Not many "excellent" movies that have ever been released. Of Gods and Men is stunning and only a retard wouldn't watch it at least once in his life. Movie of the century for me.... Show more
What happens in Of Gods and Men
In 1996, in Algeria, eight French monks of The Monastery Notre-Dame de l'Atlas of Tibhirine have a simple life serving the poor community that was raised around the monastery. During the Algerian Civil War, they are threatened by terrorists but they decide to stay in the country and not return to France.
