Share with me the name of a movie that is more recognizable that The River Wild... you won't find one. A performance that has no weak moments. I still remember the first time I watched The River Wild. I watched this movie three times and I liked it the same every single one even more. Curtis Hanson made this movie at a great steady pace along with amazing writing. I liked the characters, all of them, even the antagonists were unforgettable, especially Meryl Streep. I never liked Action titles so it's fair to say i never thought I'd love The River Wild. From the start to the end I was impressed, and if you like well done movies I'm sure you'll feel same. What happens in The River Wild

Gail is a professional at water rafting. She twigs every day, and she is in very good shape. She takes her family on a rafting trip down the river, but she has no idea that the planned trip is about to become a nightmare. Two escaping robbers with a handgun meet the family on the trip, and join them. Only later does Gail realize that their new friends are dangerous criminals, but it's too late. The two men force them to stay together, and to keep cruising down the river. The family's lives are risked not only by the two men, but also by the river which becomes more stormy and wilder....
